Three evenings to follow your ears, eyes and appetite. During ADE, Motie brings musicians, artists, collectives and food partners together in the Stopera’s former municipal service hall.

Get lost in a concert, discover the people behind a record label, listen to someone else’s story and meet your friends over something good to eat. Below is everything you can explore, with a different musical programme and guest kitchen each evening.

Every evening — Art & light

Nxt Museum is Motie’s exclusive curatorial partner for the art programme. Amsterdam’s museum for new media art explores the meeting of art and technology. At Motie, that curiosity takes shape in works by Heleen Blanken, Daniel de Bruin and Sophia Bulgakova, inviting you to experience the space through light, movement and sound.

• Helios — Heleen Blanken & Daniel de Bruin. A kinetic installation with a rhythm of its own, bringing light and movement into the Stopera. Each evening, a different live ambient performance offers another way to experience the work.
• Spomyny — Sophia Bulgakova. Voices and recordings travel through an installation of pipes, sharing personal experiences of life during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The title means “memories”: an invitation to listen closely to the people within the story.
• Sensitive Guidelines — Sophia Bulgakova. A new work presented alongside Spomyny, bringing another part of Bulgakova’s practice into Motie’s first ADE edition.

Every evening — Food & drinks

• AnchovyBar — One of the partners bringing Motie to life, joining us for food, drinks and good company at Amstel 1.
• Sprezzatura — Discover Italian wines from small producers with an Amsterdam specialist whose curiosity has taken them through more than 35 years of wine.
• Kami Wines — A partner in Motie’s wine programme across all three evenings, with another selection to discover.
• L’Atelier du Champagne — An Amsterdam wine specialist with a taste for independent growers as well as celebrated houses; an invitation to explore beyond the labels you already know.
• Guest kitchens — A different guest kitchen from an Amsterdam restaurant each evening. Restaurant names will be announced.

Thursday 22 October

• MOOD — Music hosting partner for Thursday.
• Young Marco live ft. Jonny Nash · 20:00–21:00 — Two longtime collaborators, also known for their work together in Gaussian Curve, bring their musical connection to Helios. Marco’s psychedelic imagination and Nash’s spacious guitar music draw you into the sound, the moving light and the architecture of the Stopera. Requires a Motie at Night + Concert ticket.
• Living Room Session — Dutch National Opera & Ballet — Featuring Shaquille Joy and Tamara Shogaolu in Studio Boekman. Ticketed separately through Dutch National Opera & Ballet.

Friday 23 October

• Oceanic live · 20:00–21:00 — A premiere at Motie: Oceanic performs new music of his own, never played before. Curious melodies and surprising rhythms meet the moving light of Helios in a live ambient performance. Be there as the music finds its first audience. Requires a Motie at Night + Concert ticket.
• PEEL Collective — Hypnotic techno, adventures in bass and an ear for the unexpected. Known for gatherings at Garage Noord and Der Hintergarten, alongside their ambient Unwind sessions, PEEL brings its musical curiosity to Friday night.
• Arno Schuitemaker — Intensely physical dance in which movement, music and lighting work together. Give it your attention and feel how rhythm takes shape in a moving body.

Saturday 24 October

• Gizem Öz live · 20:00–21:00 — The Amsterdam composer, DJ and sound artist brings her attention to sound and space to Helios. Settle into her live ambient interpretation and discover the installation through a different musical imagination. Requires a Motie at Night + Concert ticket.
• Pintai — An Amsterdam collective and record label exploring deep and ambient house, with releases by Hame and Pango. Spacious melodies and absorbing grooves offer a way into their world; come and meet the people behind it.
• Arno Schuitemaker — Another opportunity to experience the choreographer’s physical approach to movement, music and light.
